Can you guys tell I have a little obsession with cinnamon chips?? They’re amazing! Unfortunately, not that great for you considering all of the sugar but who is worried about that when they’re biting into a delicious, warm scone! Not me I know that’s for sure!
They never stood a chance…not with me in close proximity. I really don’t know what it is about these scones, I don’t go nuts over any other scone in particular, but you might say that I’m addicted to these. That’s why I absolutely had to share this recipe with all of you.
I don’t have much else to say other than I promise you these are amazing. And if you’re not looking to inhale a whole batch of scones I suggest you have others around to indulge with you, it’s the best way to do it.
Cinnamon Chip Scones
Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups cinnamon baking chips
1 egg, separated
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 cup cinnamon chips
Preparations
Preheat oven to 375°F
Combine the dry ingredients, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add butter slowly, mixing well.
In a separate bowl combine egg yolk, vanilla, and buttermilk. Add dry ingredients, mixing completely. Stir in cinnamon chips.
On a floured surface, roll out dough (with hands) to 1/2″ thickness. Cut into scones, place on an ungreased cooking sheet, and brush egg white over scones.
Bake for 15-18 minutes or until lightly golden on top. Transfer scones to cooling rack and let cool for 5 minutes. Enjoy!!

I love cinnamon chips and these sound delicious. I made cinnamon roll scones not too long ago. They are awesome!
Cinnamon chip scones are my special splurge when I go to starbucks. I cannot imagine what I would do with more than one at my finger tips at home.
Heaven is right!!! YUM!
These sound like they would go perfectly with my mornign coffee!
Looks amazing and this is the first time I am seeing chocolate chips scones, mostly into cakes and cupcakes, lovely and nice.
Scones can come in many textures and these look just right for my tastes. I prefer mine to be much like a crispier version of a bar cookie. Also, I can’t seem to get enough cinnamon these days-yum!
Oh – these are fabulous! I hate being allergic to cinnamon, but I be they are AMAZING! Beautiful pictures!
I love this idea for a scone! I am going to have to break down and buy cinnamon chips soon!
