Local Events for the Foodie in You: August 12th-14th!

This week was jam packed with things to do for local foodies! Just in case you missed it or you’re heading into the city and looking for something fantastic to do that involves amazing food and/or booze, here’s a list of events to hold you over for tonight and the rest of the weekend…

Aug 12G-50 Happy Hour at G-50 Bar and Grill , 208 East 50th St (@ 3rd Ave) from 4-7pm. Say buh-bye to the work week at G-50, which is sure to hit the, ahem, spot. Before sunset, enjoy $2 oysters, $5 beers (their list includes locally brewed Brooklyn Summer Ale) or your choice of Absolut Vodka cocktails, Bogle Merlot and Atlanta Pinot Grigio (a la Ramona of Real Housewives NYC) for $7. If you need to soak up some of that alcohol, their baby Meatballs, original Crostini plates and imported/domestic cheeses should do the trick. So don’t worry about starting the weekend with the right vibe, G-50 has you covered.

Duck, Duck….Goose! at the Guilty Goose, 131 w. 23rd St (b/w 6th & 7th Ave) starting at 4:30pm. First there came duck, duck, goose, and now there is duck, duck, goose fat! Come to the Guilty Goose bar any day after 4:30pm for some free Goose Fat Flavored popcorn sprinkled with smoked paprika salt. Your taste buds will thank you!

Aug 13Steve’s Ice Cream + Pint Mash Up at 61 Local, 61 Bergen St (@ Smith St) in Brooklyn, from 11am-1am. Cool off at the end of the summer with three new ice cream flavors made with Local craft beer: beer pretzel caramel, maple porter pecan, and Brooklyn blackout. Tickets go for $50-$75 and can be purchased here.

Columbus 72 Gala at Columbus 72, 246 Columbus Ave (@ 72nd St) from 6pm-12am. Instead of another low-class drunken Saturday night, get ready for this super gala at Columbus 72. Enjoy three hours of hors d’oeuvres, get a chance to win tickets to Freud’s Last Session, and receive a $25 discount card for Club Getaway’s popular boomer weekend. Nothing beats a Saturday night full of free goodies and class! Admission is $20 at the door.

Not only can you chow down on fare like open-faced brisket sandwiches and German potato salad ($5) but you can wash it all down with Coors ($3), Vodka cocktails ($5) and draft Blue Point ($4). So break out the cowboy hat and over-sized belt after you RSVP here.
