Happy Monday to all! I’m happy because…I’m off! Always nice to have an extra day added to the weekend. What’s also nice is that on this awesome day off I can enjoy an amazing meal from some of the best restaurants in NYC for cheap! I love restaurant week and I’m so happy that it starts today! Jan 16New York City’s 20th Annual Restaurant Week! Attention, NYC foodies: Restaurant Week is back for its 20th year! Prepare to indulge in delectable three-course meals that will make you want to bite off way more than you can chew. For $24.07, you can snag a great lunch, while a mere $35 ensures your dinner. Get Shell Shucked Oyster Party at Taproom 307, 307 3rd Ave (@ 23rd St) from 6-10pm.  Love luxurious oysters? Who doesn’t! It’s all about the yummy aphrodisiac tonight at Taproom 307’s Get Shell Shucked Oyster Party! For only $15, indulge in a four-oyster sampling, paired with a four-beer flight by expert beer sommelier Hayley Jansen. Other oyster specialties will be offered a la carte, with special sides like beer-spiked dipping sauces. Mix and mingle with oyster purveyors, learn how to identify East from West Coast oysters, or simply sit back with your beau and enjoy a sensual snack…and maybe some dessert later, if you know what we mean!

The Delaware-based brewing co. will be pouring out pints of brews both past and present, with over 12 lines of vintage and new release Dogfish Head on draft. Cheers to that!

Winter Heat: Chorizo and Merguez at 61 Local, 61 Bergen St (@ Smith St) from 7-9pm. Brooklyn Cured is bringing the heat in the middle of winter with its Sausage-Making Class over at 61 Local! They’ll be sharing the secret to preparing perfect spicy sausages with Brooklyn Cured founder Scott Bridi as a guide. Students will get hands-on practice, and you’ll even get to take home some of the fruits, er, meats of your labor! The culinary competition and tasting tour features 50 chefs in 10 cities, fighting it out until the pool’s down to a talented 10, who will then head to the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen for the final competition, the Grand Cochon. Today, the competition is in NYC at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, where five local chefs are to prep a snout-to-tail pork menu paired with vino by five local wineries.
